The project was written and produced by 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗲𝗺 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝘀 (Journalist, Marhaba Academy and Marhaba Rome Festival Art Director, Master Teacher, Performer) Godmother of the event was 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗭𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶 (bellydance stylist and big promoter in Italy).
Marhaba Academy Project wants to be a side project of the big event Marhaba Rome Festival, with more than one appointment during the year. During each week-end we focus our studies on a particular subject, involving prestigious artists, specialized in the event's theme. We love to learn from the source and we love our participants has the same opportunity, with TOP teachers and organization.
It is very important spread and understand deeply the arabic folkloric dances and music.
This time was more precious, because our cultural project was recognize by 𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗭𝗔 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗘, one of the most important of Europe, and Ancient History University Teachers invite us to talk about Middle Eastern dances, Iraqi, Egyptian and Tunisian Dances, during the conference of the first day.
We were surprised a lot when we learnt that more than 100 students booked for attending the Conference University organized for us.
A lot of wonderful dancers joined the Iraqi Dance Intensive from Italy, from Estonia, from Mexico, from UK, from China, from Russia.
It was simply a magic connection between people who love Iraqi dances and Arabic folklore in general.
For the first time we support Iraqi music, so we invite the artist Nawaf Al Kaabi , as special guest of the event, who he taught, alongside Assala, Iraqi music's characteristics. He is a talented multi tasking artists and He was very generous with his knowledge and performances.
Thanks a lot again to 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 for University relationships and 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗶 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 for Theatre coordination.
Thanks to all dancers who joined the event, and contributed to make real this big and difficult project! We love YOU!
