Marhaba Rome Festival is one of the most important project about Oriental Dance

(Bellydance) and arabic folk dance of Europe.

Since 1995 Maryem Bent Anis & Samira Zenati worked hard for spreading Oriental Dance in Italy, as a culture and a form of wellness, in a time, when arabian cultures were not so popular in our country.

These 2 women fought a lot for let Oriental Dance known in Italy, despite prejudice, ignorance and conservatism.

After years of creating events, shows, attending at national italian TV and arabian embassies cultural events, as cultural representatives, a new project was taking shape.

In 2006 the first edition of Marhaba Rome Festival was born. At the time it was a new vision of Bellydance event, as a point of reference for a Community who was growing up very fast in Italy.

After Marhaba Rome Festival, in few time, Oriental Dance was recognize as a respectable Sport Dance by CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano) and it was recognize as a form of Sport with official  competition with rules and coded languages.

Many young dancers started their carer with Marhaba Rome Festival, started to study more deeply, starting their careers, as teachers, following professional training and obtaining recognized diplomas.

The project Marhaba Rome Festival since its beginning brought the most important international bellydance artists of the world in Italy and enveloping new talent rising stars from Italy and other european countries.

Many dancers started their carrer beginning from Marhaba Rome Festival, many other organizers took inspiration from it.
